Flowering Trees

Standard

Flowers fall,
Leaves begin to bud.
Flowers made fewer,
Flowers made prettier.

Waiting

Standard

Green points in garden
Shiny leaves, bright stems peak out
Flowers wait to bloom.

Waiting For Spring Buds

Standard

Trees, outnumbered by
Evergreens,
Wait for buds.
Buds on one tree,
Buds on shrubs.

Please come soon, friend!
Where are you?
I’m waiting for my bud,
Too.

Spring Rhyme

Standard

Buds on a shrub,
Buds on a shrub,
Tulips, trees, and
Buds on a shrub.

Go, calling crows!
Go, calling crows!
Serenade us,
Go, calling crows!

Green Fragrant Spring

Standard

Young greenness everywhere!

Old greenness, too.

Evergreen trees,

A dead turtle.

Everything’s green,

Both old and new.

Beautiful flowers,

An old rotting shrub.

The flowers smell like spring.

The shrub like summer,

When everyone’s sweaty,

And needing a scrub.

It’s not summer yet.

The air is cool still.

The breeze is fresh,

The flowers are soft,

Buttercups, dandelions

Cover the hill.
