Summer Joys

Tree hearts
Tree stars
Climbing trees
Riding in toy cars

Summer shade

Summer heat
Summer smells

The joys of childhood

Together in Sunshine

Dancing water,
Dancing sand,
Each one
Takes its turn.

Sunshine meets water,
Sunshine meets sand,
Shining through
Them both.

Rainbow though water,
Sparkling sand,
Beauty in two worlds,

Hurray For Families!

Your mom, dad,

Grandma, grandpa,

Brothers, sisters,

Uncles, aunts

Are extremely special.

Families are like sunshine.

Without them,

The sky would be grey.

You are lucky

To have parents who

Raise you,

Praise you,

Cuddle you,

Call you “darling,”

Tuck you in,

Say “Night-night.”

You are lucky to have

Brothers and sisters

To play and have fun with

Even though you

Sometimes fight.

Families are for loving,

And being together forever.

If you love your family,

Clap and shout “hooray!”

Sun and Shade Hike

Sun shines through leaves on trees,

Painting them different shades of green.

Leaves form chorus of greens,

Sing with the birds.

Butterflies flit through singing leaves,

Dragonflies absorb their light.

Shade protects undergrowth, butterflies,

And hikers from hot rays.

Keeps them from stinking;

Keeps the air fresh.

Shade hides spider from view,

Like the hollow log,

Hides all its secrets.

Leaf casts a shadow.
